Why this site exists
Welcome
I am not a pastor or a teacher. I write from the road, the same road you are on, or perhaps the road you are looking for. Christ is my only hope, and I cannot keep to myself what I have found in Him.
Not to convince
For four years I tried to convince people. Now I understand what Jesus meant when He said, again and again, “Who hath ears to hear, let him hear” (Matthew 13:9). Seeing and hearing are given; they cannot be argued into anyone (Deuteronomy 29:4; Matthew 13:16). So this site is not here to convince you. It is here for those who want to hear and to see. If that is you, you are welcome. Proof cluster: The Capacity Must Be Given.
One sentence
Everything on this site grows from one sentence that Jesus Christ spoke in His prayer to the Father, on the night before the cross:
And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
John 17:3
What you will find here
The Gospel, first of all: who God is, who Christ is, what He has done, and what He asks of you. It is simple enough to reach a man in his last breath, and it does not change.
What I believe, set down plainly, so that you know where I stand and can test it.
The book I am writing, The Road to Eternal Life. It is under construction, and what you can read here is only its first beginning.
Test everything
I hold errors, and I know it. Nothing here asks to be believed because I wrote it. Read it with your Bible open, and keep what Scripture confirms.
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
1 Thessalonians 5:21
The times we live in
The world has always offered its own answers: peace through unity, life through progress, wisdom without God. Today it offers them in the language of technology. I have written down how I read our times in the light of Scripture on a page of its own, The Times We Live In. It belongs after the Gospel, not before it. The world can only show us our need. Christ is the answer to it.
If you are searching, begin with the Gospel.
